This exhibition will feature the work of twenty-five local artists and their interpretation of the "chair." This show includes sculpture, paintings, photography and mixed media works. Reserved Seating was curated by Dallas artist TERRI STONE. The exhibition features a variety of interpretations of the chair created in different styles, media and techniques. Why the chair? A chair is utilitarian and everyone can identify with it on some level. A chair can refer to the identity or status of the sitter: a throne, a lazy boy, an electric chair, a baby's chair, a Director's chair, etc. Each brings up associations. |
