A twist on the traditional “farewell” and “homecoming” evokes a multitude of emotions in this exhibition of postcard-size mixed media art.

The theme of goodbyes and coming-backs has been explored in art in several ways. Often, an artist expresses his or her emotions of sadness and misery for seeing someone or something going away. Other artists depict exaltation and joyous celebration for seeing that someone or something is coming back. Those are all good ways to represent emotional reactions to farewells and homecomings.
But, who is to say that a farewell represents something gloomy necessarily? And how many times have we associated a homecoming with a not so happy feeling? Everybody reacts to situations according to his of her own point of view. When a wide variety of reactions are transformed into art, then there is potential for a fascinating exhibition.
