The Bath House Cultural Center and the White Rock Lake Museum present The Amateur Birder's Journal , an exhibition of breathtaking photographs of birds from the White Rock Lake area by J R Compton.

As a photojournalist, J R Compton has been documenting White Rock Lake and Park passionately for many years on a daily to weekly basis.  Mr. Compton is the Editor and Publisher of DallasArtsRevue.com, an on-line art journal of that has as its purpose "to celebrate and promote Dallas visual art and artists." DARts now has more than 500 web pages of information for and about Dallas artists, including often-updated calendars, artists' opportunities, art news, views, reviews and links.

The first White Rock Lake photographic project started a few years ago when Mr. Compton used a low-resolution digital camera. The series was called The White Rock Lake Digital Foto Project.  When Mr. Compton moved the project to a new web address, he changed the name to The White Rock Lake Journal and concentrated more on photographs than descriptions. The most recent series, The Amateur Birder's Journal, is Mr. Compton's new project in high resolution digital photography of birds.

Visit J R Compton's website at
