OUTSIDE THE LINES 8
Juried Exhibition
Call for Entries

Deadline:
5:30 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2008
(not a "postmark" deadline)

THE BATH HOUSE CULTURAL CENTER announces a call for entries for the

OUTSIDE THE LINES 8
Juried Art Exhibition

The Bath House Cultural Center will present Outside the Lines 8, a juried art exhibition featuring new works by local and regional visual artists.

Artists are invited to enter works of any media. Artwork is not limited by a particular theme, style or subject matter.

This year, Outside the Lines will be juried by a panel of three jurors, which includes Marty Ray, Elizabeth Mellot-Carreón, Mary Morgan. and Dahlia Woods.

Outside the Lines 8 is presented to celebrate the transcendent, innovative and experimental work of contemporary visual artists.

ELIGIBILITY
Art in all media will be accepted. Only work completed in the last three years will be eligible. Artwork should be ready for installation at the time of delivery. No artwork shall be removed from the exhibition before the closing date. Complex installations should be coordinated and supervised by the Gallery Director.

For a copy of the Bath House's Policy for exhibitions, please visit www.bathhousecultural.com/policy.html

ENTRIES
Entries will be accepted in the form of JPEG digital photographs saved on CDs. Images saved in a different format or files on detachable flash drives will not be accepted. Entries that are e-mailed will be disqualified. No prints or slides will be juried.

Saving your images -
Please follow these guidelines to save your files on the CD:

* Label your CD with your full name, phone number and e-mail address

* Do not embed your images into any type of software (Word, Powerpoint, etc.). JPEG files must stand alone

* Save only JPEG images with a resolution that yields to a file size between 500 KB and 2 MB. Usually, the quality of the image is better if the file size is larger.

* Name your files by using your last name plus a sequential number 1, 2, 3, etc. (example: smith1.jpeg, smith2.jpeg).

* Artists are responsible for the clarity, scale, orientation and overall quality of their image files.

Please fill out the ENTRY FORM and return it with your CD to the Bath House Cultural Center (see schedule). An entry fee of $15 will be paid to the Bath House Cultural Center Advisory Council.  The fee will allow artists to submit up to two entries. Three-dimensional art can be represented with two images: one with a general view and another with a detail view.

The Bath House Cultural Center will not return entry materials, as they will become part of the center's image registry.
