As a photojournalist, J R Compton has been documenting White Rock Lake and Park for many years on a daily to weekly basis using digital cameras.

Mr. Compton is the Editor and Publisher of DallasArtsRevue.com, whose purpose is "to celebrate and promote Dallas visual art and artists." DARts now has more than 500 web pages of information for and about Dallas artists, including often-updated calendars, artists' opportunities, art news, views, reviews and links.

The first White Rock Lake photographic project started a few years ago when Mr. Compton used a low-resolution digital camera. The series was called The White Rock Lake Digital Foto Project.

When Mr. Compton moved the project to a new web address, he changed the name to The White Rock Lake Journal and concentrated more on photographs than descriptions. Mr. Compton renamed his photographic series JR's New White Rock Lake Journal a couple of years ago when he got a high resolution 5 mega-pixel digital camera. Images from the recent series are featured in this exhibition.
